
Meet Tenzin Drolkar


Venerable Tenzin Drolkar
Teaching Facilitator, Meditation Instructor, & Holistic Counsellor
In 2017, following 10 years of broad exploration of the Buddhist path, Venerable Tenzin Drolkar (Tenzin) travelled to Dharamsala in the foothills of the Himalayas to receive ordination as a Tibetan Buddhist nun with His Holiness 14th Dalai Lama.
Prior to 2017 Tenzin owned and operated her own national law firm and consultancy specializing in the areas of employment law, workplace relations and human resource management.
Tenzin is currently a full-time carer for her brother living with a disability and enjoys parenting her 2 fur children, August (cutest Dachshund in the world) and Autumn (beautiful, lazy ginger cat).
QUALIFICATIONS
With postgraduate qualifications in Holistic Human Development (Holistic Counselling + Mentoring + Meditation Instruction + Autonomic Nervous System Realignment Therapy) Tenzin brings a diverse depth of knowledge and experience to her teaching facilitation, holistic counselling, meditation instruction, discussion groups and support groups.
Tenzin is currently undertaking Chaplaincy training with the Qld Institute of Clinical Pastoral Education (QICPE) generously funded by Qld Health. Upon completion Tenzin will undertake volunteer Chaplaincy duties within Maryborough Hospital and Health Services.
Tenzin has also trained with Karuna Hospice in Brisbane, attending their ‘Spiritual Care with the Dying' program and retreats.
PROFESSIONAL MEMBERSHIP
Tenzin is an Executive Member of the International Institute for Complementary Therapists, a member of the International Sangha Association, the International Mahayana Institute, the Australian Sangha Association and the International Alliance of Non-Himalayan Nuns .
